Check Device Status
Before
indulging into any technical checkup, first, ensure your Echo is turned on and
connected to the power supply. Secondly, check for internet access as
interrupted, slow or no internet will not let you talk to your Alexa anyway.
Check Alexa Privacy
Try
to disable and enable Alexa privacy settings back again, to clear any
privacy-related obstacle. Do the following:
·
Look at the bottom of the Nucleus screen.
·
Click on the Alexa button to enable Alexa privacy.
·
Click it once again to let Alexa listen to you again.
Now
speak the wake word again, most probably Alexa will respond.
Reconnect to Amazon Account
·
Open the Alexa
app on your smartphone.
·
Click settings.
·
Click log out.
·
Click Login.
·
Add Amazon account login id and password.
·
Follow all on-screen instructions to get logged back
into your Amazon Alexa Account.
·
Leave settings
Now
try speaking your wake word to check if Alexa responds to your voice commands
or not?
Check network connectivity
·
Make sure your Alexa is connected to the wifi network.
·
Also, check for internet access.
·
In case your Echo, router and Alexa app (on your
smartphone) are placed far flung from each other, they will suffer from low
signal strength.
·
Try to keep all required devices in the allowed
distance.
Change the Wake Word
In
case your Alexa is connected to multiple echo devices, then maybe the wrong
Echo is responding to your voice commands. In such a case, change the wake word
and set individual allowed wake word for each Echo device.
